Ive bought lessexpensive yoga towels before and a lot have those plastic knobbles which supposedly keep the towel in place but actually just hurt your knees and leave indentations in your skinthis one is smooth on both sides and relies on a texture thats kinda between a bath towel and a standard microfibre towel to stay in place

Great yoga mat towel lightweight and although the towel is very slightly larger than a yoga mat in size it rolls up to a small size

The strong elastic loop is sewn in such a way that it always lies flat over the rolledup fabric and once the towel is open you can use it to secure the towel on a hook it would have to be a high one though
