Pros
Michaelbrent collings, as an author, is a chameleon. Because many sci-fi authors are difficult to read (heinlein) but if you persevere you’ll often find gems.
The celestians are aliens who look like earth pine trees, and who have a great deal of technology. The storyunfolds as they learn to communicate with each other.
Normally a horror writer, mbc expands his repertoire with this extremely engaging tale. Mbc again shows he is a master of his craft - tearing away from the high octane * we are used to and dipping into the ya genre again.
The way the characters grow as the story progresses is a beautiful thing. The storyline is fast-paced and very entertaining. The characters are easy to relate to, their conversations and actions are consistent with the character portrayal.
Adventure, mystery and even a touch of romance await you in light-years from home. Ya space adventure. It’s not dark or creepy but fun and light.
