I did buy this mat for a friend and for her a yoga practitioner this is one of the best producta in the market

It is also wider than my old mat by about 2 inches so it would not fit into my old yoga bag

It is quite a bit heavier than my other mats but the initial stink and the extra weight should not discourage you from investing in it

It has a nice carrying case and when i unfold the mat it does not stay curled
