Pros & Cons
Pros
It drops more slowly but speeds up again once it has 8 or so inches left to close. Still releases a little ln e too early for me when closing. I'm a mechanical engineer and got it to close nicely by guessing and checking in the end.
Very strong. No fingers will get slammed. If you want a support that saves fingers, these are the ones to get. Product good, instructions, not so.
Cons
In just over 5 months, the hinge no longer soft closes. Used two of these for a kids table lid and it shuts softly until it gets halfway, then it slams.
Instructions are difficult to understand where/how to place the mounting plate. Required forcing the rotating parts is very complicated. The instructions are pictures only.
