We tried them out and they go off when someone walks about 20 feet from them

We have our unit set to bright for 15 then dim for 15 and then off

The bright setting is brighter than i had expected and the 15 second dim is a nice feature bc if you stop moving you are not thrust into total darkness if you need to move to reactivate the motion sensor

Even though our unit does not have direct line of sight to the city sidewalk the unit is on a wall next to an metal awning it picks up movement from the city sidewalk 20 feet away and turns on
