Pros

The ½ hp 287 model pumps almost as fast as the utilitech 1hp model it replaced. Strong flow while pumping (clears my well very quickly). It moves a lot more water than the other 1/2 hp pumps i've had!

Year 8 update the pump continues to operate flawlessly. Quick and quiet and dependable ( for 4 years ) is the best quality of liberty pumps.

This pump is more complex than the ones you get at the box stores. It seems very well made, better than the best option i could find in a big box hardware store. Have always had different brands and compared. Barnes, zoeller, lesser brands.

Lately it comes in faster than the soil can perk.

Cons

My 3 water heater got destroyed. It's a miracle the water level didn't reach the electrical panels. Then there was the 2 - 3 days of cleanup and the loss of water soaked items.

Other than that i am happy with the pump so far

Good quality resetting the breaker fixed the issue even though the breaker was not tripped

You can tell by the outside finish which looks like a porcelain baked finish that the quality starts with the appearance

It lasted 3 years before i started having issues with the switch not coming on

This 287 pump is a brute heavy and worth the cost

Can complain since it is quiet and fast for what i need

This one went a bit quicker but not as fast as it should have according to the pump curves liberty publishes

Was a tossup between this pump and a zoeller pump

Much better than the cheaper bigbox store pumps i used previously

I bought this to replace an aging slow offbrand pedestal pump

I called their company in bergen ny before buying a pump just to check out their customer servive and tech support

The original pump worked like a champ since 2003 then the motor gave out
