The scanners feeder roles do need to be cleaned periodically as instructed on lexmarks site

The scanner is excellent and the unit works perfectly with my mac via the builtin printers and scanners app in system preferences so there is no need for any other software on a mac to use this printer

As a result the machine tries to pull the paper and fails giving a no paper warning

Even though this has been an excellent purchase there are some issues that you should be aware of the duplex scanner feature actually passes the scanned item through twice instead of scanning both sides on a single pass it then passes it through a third time so it will wind up in the correct orientation in the output tray
