The hepa filter inside unit is wrapped in plastic

You will have to open the bottom of the machine to get to the filter to remove the plastic wrap

I can only imagine that if the filter was completely blocked by a plastic film that the fan would overheat and cause a burning smell

Other people have returned theirs but you can most likely avoid this problem by removing the plastic film

One star off because theres no type of timer for the thing to have a specific onoff time but that doesnt bother me much
