It has to either rest on both arms or be slanted with one side on one arm and the other on a pillow on my lap

Overall it is an excellent desk with the caveat that it cannot be easily used in chairs that have higher arms even if the arms are widely spaced

Mine is a 17 laptop and kinda hung over the edges a little more then i was comfortable with but would probably work for a smaller computer

Other reviews said the dark cherry was darker then the picture and i would like to add that the natural cherry was also darker then the picture

All in all its okay and im happy to have it but didnt live up to the higher standard of its predecessor
