Pros

Leuchtturm never disappoints. These notebooks are so much better than competitors and worth the money. They're also well constructed.

There is some feint ghosting but no noticeable bleed-through from roller balls and/or erasable frixion rollerballs. It all boils down to the pens as well, some brands inks are really runny.

Cons

Even pencil and biro shows through the back of the page and looks really bad. Cannot hand fountain or bold rollerball in.

It looks so cheap and tacky inside. It's even worse than moleskine. Truly a shame. Extremely disappointed indeed.

The paper in this notebook is much thinner than my previous leuchtturm1917 notebook. Due to the worse binding the book itself is thinner. You can see the elastic through the thinner cover. Do yourself a favour and just get a nice cover for one of thos... Read More

Im writing a review as a response to many others who have commented negatively on the quality of the paper

As beautiful and i could buy more cost effective notebooks

I just wish the pen holder was included in the price rather than have to buy it separately

I end up going through them pretty fast and i must be on my 9th or 10th one now

Packaging/appearance

This was bought as a gift so i don’t know what it’s like as it is wrapped in sturdy cellophane

Paper takes fountain pen ink much better than the competition from moleskine

These notebooks are so much better than competitors and worth the money

Have tried the competition but really there isn’t any

I have bought from amazon a number of leuchtturm a5 notebooks but they were the dots version and i needed a couple of lined ones
