You can tell the author herself has experienced struggle with her own decluttering shortcomings relative to the topics she speaks on because her pragmatic pieces of advice arent just smile in a mirror and all should be fine platitudes in disguise

In fact i have generally disliked most discussions of minimalism more because they used the term badly than because the discussion was weakalthough most of the discussions were also very weak

Zoe defined what she meant by minimalist very early in the book and made it clear that she meant the term as a personal subjective term neither general nor objective

And it is even harder to work both terms into topiary in a conversation

So to achieve minimalism by somebody elses standard i would have to abandon both giraffes and topiary
