I understand that freshly roasted coffee straight from the roaster may require a co2 escape valve i would indicate that this unit does not have one but i was not seeking that feature

I discovered the bottom half of the top sealing mechanism unscrews from the top half for cleaning of the seal

You should note that the images on the label do not recommend dishwashing of the top portion or perhaps they mean not bottom rack hard to say as its just an image of a dishwasher with a big red x through it

They do show the bottom plastic container can be put in the dishwasher no red x but id probably only keep this to top rack for safety

However i detracted one star because it comes with a large sticker on the side

When you peel the sticker off it leaves a sticky residue that is near impossible to get off
