Ive been reading science fiction for decades so many books and stories that initially this one seemed similar to others such that i almost gave it up as just another rehash

Lots of kamikaze stuff one would figure that even with humanities survival at stake a certain percentage of people would baulk at knowingly going to their death but it never comes up
