If you wear good warm clothing you shouldnt have an issue in freezing weather

I easily get cold in it below 45f and need additional blankets or bag inserts to stay warm so the 20f rating must be for survival and thats with minimal clothes on to keep bag heated

In the low 30s and below i had to wear a sweatshirt in addition to the above listed layers

I would say that they are comfortable down to 40°f unless you wear thermal underwear and socks then maybe 2830°

This bag took up a fair amount of space in our packs but is very light which is what really matters
