If you want to grow something this would work for a small plant as long as you position it very close

It shows a very red tint but does seem to work better than an incandescent plant light purchased at a local hardware store

It will screw into a normal socket but if your lamp has a shade the bulb may not fit

My lamp has a shade that is only slightly wider than the diameter of the bulb which makes it a little difficult to screw the bulb in all the way
