Unfortunately there doesnt seem to be a way to decrease the range or sensitivity of the motion detection

Unfortunately while it produced sufficient light at night so my new doorbell could see peoples faces the light was insufficient during the day to overcome the backlight from outside the porch even on just a cloudy day so the doorbell showed only black silhouettes of people rather than their features

Bottom line is that the unit seems okay but that its motion detection sensitivity and illumination didnt fill my needs
