Smell reminds me of hair perm solution. The fabric is that weird, slinky, almost slimy cold fabric that heats up and doesn't breathe.
The description is a lie. Lack of consistency is the reason. Terrible quality.
The shorts are so comically large it's hard to describe how much they don't fit. The bottoms are so big that the * hangs half way down my thigh.

Wash them in cold water on gentle cycle because they aren’t made to go in with your normal temperature and big loads of clothing

I was previously wearing an oversized cotton shirt and mens basketball shorts to bed and even though the air would get down to around 65° at night and we had a fan and i was only sleeping under a sheet and a throw blanket i was waking up with my shirt and sheets damp and disgusting
