Pros

Tambourine arrived on time. Works well. Fits well. Feels like it'll last a while.

Four pairs of nickel plated steel jingles produce a bright, high-projecting sound. The elastic band fits comfortably over foot. It makes a very nice and bright chime.

It feets easy over any shoe and more importantly stays there. It rings easily meaning it doesn't tire your leg to death by the end of the song. I also have a professional full size tambourine and have experimented with various contraptions to anchor i...  Read More

This one by lp is a lot better sounding and way more durable. As a complete sound, the tambourine sounds quite nice as the cymbals are bright and don't sound like cheap pot covers. There are a few companies that make a product like this but i think lp...  Read More

It's just what i was looking for as a solo player. Great add on to the fun and joy of playing music. They make a fine addition to your musical efforts when used with discretion and intelligence.

Cons

The meinl is better in my opinion. It's a really nice instrument but it's too quiet and gets drowned out by the rest of the band. Also slides off my shoe after a while. Don't expect much.

Quality

For what this is, great bang/shake for the buck!

Sounds great, easy to play, good quality for the price.

Packaging/appearance

Great little gadget perfect for adding a little jingle on the downbeats.

Competitiveness

Loud enough to carry over 3 accoustic guitars through amps.

Much better than others at similar prices.

When a competitor's product broke on the first use, i ordered this instead as part of a foot-operated suitcase drum set.

I like meinl products but, the meinl foot tambourine is really crappy.

I also have a professional full size tambourine and have experimented with various contraptions to anchor it to the ground but really it is all just a waste of time when all you have to do is pick up one of these great little instruments.

Note: the elastic band is not as durable as the rest of the instrument but you can purchase flat webbing at your local hardware store if, after years of use, it is necessary to repair.
