One of the things i really like about these trees is that as well as the brass handle they have the wooden hook style this give you far more control getting the trees in and out and in the case of a thread failure on the handle would at least mean easy removal of the tree until it could be repaired

Its a shame as i really want to give these five stars but unfortunately they are unusable as they are and would require repair work to get them to a point where it wont damage a leather lined brogues

This isnt a big problem if done correctly but it was glued in a different direction to the grain and excess wood glue used to fill gaps which left a very rough edge
