Pros

It works like a charm. Indicator light lets me know everything is ok. They're a little pricey, but if you break the cost down by years of service, i'm ok with it.

This is the best purchase i've made for my koi pond! Went out in a blizzard with two gallons of scalding water to create a hole, put the de-iced in plugged it in. The 300 watts keep the entire pond thawed.

Cons

Hagen usa does not offer repair service for this product - it's basically a throw-away. Hagen says this purchase is not covered by the one year warranty.

Nice heavy unit with he 15 watts of heat on top makes all the difference

These heaters stay in place they do not tip they retain a sizable melted hole and have never failed

Unlike the donut shaped heaters it does not get covered and lost after a heavy snowfall

The price has gone up a lot since i bought it 10 years ago

Theyre a little pricey but if you break the cost down by years of service im ok with it
