Maybe the low temperature aluminum rod i was trying to solder with had too high a melting point but i could never get the base metal to melt the rod before it burned the flux black and then of course the flux is no good

The rods i bought were supposed to be the best there is for torch soldering but i couldnt get it to work and im really frustrated
