I flushed the brush with some warm water filled my platy 500 converter with ink and doodled until the ink soaked into the brush then it could produce a fine line

These brushes are not meant to be stored dry so there will be a cartridge in there with no purpose but to provide moisture to the bristles

I would advocate against throwing it out in case you need to store it without ink for a good while

Just know that making a very fine line requires a very very light touch while making a wide line takes only a little more pressure
