The backside strap secures it to the back of the chair. The elastic straps keep it in place really well. It does a great job at staying put and not sliding down.

The material feels velvety and strong. It is about 1/2 thick but you can compress it to 1/8 by pinching with your fingers.

Cons

Buyer beware. It's flimsy and thin. Emailed the company and never received a response.
