This revealed the gasket which lays on the collar of the inner bowl about 34 wide

There are lots of narrow gaps on the inside of both the collar and large outer plastic bowl

I bet even those with the warped bowls can do this removing all the leaked gel from the spaces inside and get it working fine again

I finally figured out one reason the top is so hard to put on it seems that after freezing the core expands so much at the bottom that the blade rides too high so you cant attach the top without extreme difficulty
