Pros & Cons
Pros
The headphones fit on my head, and the cups fit over my ears perfectly, with the right amount of tension pressing against my ears. They are comfortable for moderate periods of time if you have good neck muscles - longer if you are laying down with you... Read More
They are slightly heavier than most circumaural stereophones because of this. Not so much to cause discomfort, and the durability is definitively worth the slight increase in their weight.
They sound decent but it took me a while to get a headphone amp that could handle their impedance. They were designed to work with an amplifier. A 1/8 stereo to stereo rca cable adapter cord is all you need to run most digital devices through most old... Read More
Overall, these are an absolute steal. Who cares how they look? All the artists love them.
Cons
The headband has a plastic protrusion at each end of the headband cushion, to hold it in place. No way around having two sharp bits of plastic pounded into your head. The ear cushions basically leave your ears right up against the drivers.
The pads aren't the worst nor are they good. They're just way too thin. Not like the original pads apparently. Now they are completely useless.
Bass is flat. High end is tinny. Terrible quality control. Too tight, too heavy and the sound is meh. It's possible it's the receiver.
Highlights
Quality
The product materials and speakers and really good for the price.
The sound quality amazing so clear, crisp and incredible dynamic range.
They are heavy and poorly suited to any physical activity beyond careful walking, but they are about sound quality per dollar.
I threw away the box after being fully impressed by the sound clarity, only to find after 2 days they were painful to wear.
Shipping
I i could not believe they still made these headphones and i bought them as fast as i could.
Packaging/appearance
Amazing sound, had a pair back in the 70's.
These sound ridiculously good right out of the box.
The only surprise was that the product packaging is labeled “made in china”.
Competitiveness
With an 8ft cord, you have a bit of room to move around.
I also noticed that the microphone mount is actually the perfect size for a modmic mount, which is super neat if someone wanted... Read More
However, it seems that any compatible microphone has been discontinued, save for attaching a modmic with adhesive.
Hoping to find deeper replacement earcup pads.
