Pros

This style of pump is made to create a wide gentler flow. It also has a more diffused flow, but because we're using it in a reef tank, this is desirable. They allow you to customize the flow a bit, which is really nice.

Strong magnets keep the unit in place and you can barely hear it when it’s on. Only complaint is the strength of the magnets.

May update this post later on. I just hope it lasts as long. Customer service is also awesome.

The only down side is that it's big and a bit of an eye sore. However they seem to work beautifully. The electrical cord is shorter than the previous models though which is the only downfall i can see so far.

Hydor pumps only issue has been the durability of the housing and the pump spinning in reverse. Secondly, the new mount is 100x's better. Secondly, this is my second hydor product.

Cons

For some reason my 2 koralia 2450 3g flow rate dies down to a rate that is horribly slow (around 200 gph or less). If you unplug then plug the pump the flow rate pulls back up but will still drop in time.

Competitiveness

So ditch those older koralia evos because this pump is definitely worth the upgrade

Creates a realistic flow of water that is much different than a typical powerhead
