Pros & Cons
Pros
The contact surface is 2-3x what the old pads were and he can control the slowing without having to grab a handful of brake lever. And nice feel of braking. All of them seem to last about the same, though i don't record mileages of pads.
Brakes squeak a little, but that will go away over time. Kool stop is regarded to keep and maintain their specs. I think shimano puts these out as the default simply to avoid complaints about squealing brakes.
Cons
The description says choose from black (standard) / mfg part number ks-tltb or salmon (extreme weather) but they are not offering the salmon-extreme weather brake pad, they are offering a red colored pad which is not the same.
