Bought this cone in x-small and small for my 7 month old kitten's neutering. My girl 'baby paws' is a small oriental of 6. Lbs. My cat is an average size & he wears an xs.
The neck has some elasticity, and there is a drawstring to tighten. The drawstring has a plastic spring retainer.
Cons
It's very flimsy and not that deep. Might do better with a dog. Just fyi, the sides are too short and because it's collapsible, they can reach parts of their groin.
This is not for cats with claws that do not want to wear the e-collar. For dogs, buy at your own risk. Maybe it works for prevention of * surgical wounds, but they can easily rub their eyes through this.

I am very pleased with the soft cone
He could eat sleep and walk easily with the collar but could not get at his abdominal incision
This collar would bend and flex with the kittens as they slept
I bought 2 of these after my 10 month old cats were spayed and were miserable with the plastic cones provided by the vet

Finally a cone that doesnt cost 30 and cant stay on

It is a million times better than the standard ones
For reference my cat is pretty large about 10lbs and long and i got an xsmall
Potential to overtighten this so only adults should put it on the pet and allow 2fingers room between neck and collar once fitted

This cone worked well for our cat but the thin fabric tore after just 6 days of him wearing it

To prevent this i tied a simple overhand knot in them under the clasp and it did not happen again

Collar can be tipped forward or backward for greater visibility and even bent so that it goes forward and then backward

When it arrived i was a little concerned it would be too smallboth too small to fit over her head and too small to keep her away from her woundbut fortunately it was just fine
