I made sure to wash everything including my hands in white distilled vinegar and followed all the directions provided on the instruction card so ill be really upset if my scoby goes bad because of all the lint partials that the cover dropped

The only thing to note is that the kit only has enough starter to make 1 gallon so you have to start by making that to get enough starter to make a 2 gallon batch
