Pros & Cons
Pros
This little baby does the trick for my kombucha scoby making by keeping my container warm without racking up a huge electricity bill.
Great heat mat and as added bonus a thermometer strip. Works great, easy to loosen or tighten to adjust temp. Great for brewing your kombucha. It heats my brew well.
This mat does the trick. It works wonders! It works great! Works perfectly. For the price, it's worth it but i wish there were some basic 'low, medium, high' controls.
I only wish that this came with some sort of velcro rather than simply use a rubber band. I also keep it wrapped in a towel, but uncovered it for the pic. The other small issue i had is i can’t see the temperature strip unless i shine a light on it.
Perfect for two half gallon jars (pictured). Not to worry, works fine on my 2 gallon apothecary jar.
Highlights
Quality
I do not have a problem with the length of the electrical cord
With the heater it keeps my batches steady at 75 degrees and they are complete in record time
With the heater 1st batch 7 days 2nd batch 4 days
Competitiveness
I ordered a scoby and a ph kit from them too
I had purchased a cheaper brand before this one but it wasnt quite as wide and didnt work as well

There is no control for heat so it relies on how close or far it is from your container

I initially tried the heater on the bottom of my brew so it wouldn’t overheat but soon moved it to the middle
