This is accomplished by plug a wire from the headphone jack of my mp3 player to the device plugging the device into the cigarette lighter port for power tuning the radio to an unused fm station and then tuning the device to the same station

Ive tried using devices similar to this before and they just never worked but that was because they only had a few predefined stations to choose from

It works pretty well its really quiet tho full volume is not that high and you might as well make a cd but it works if you can find the right station

Many places that he drives to does not have radio service as they are mostly remote locations
