I tried using a cheaper generic adapter for a bit but removing the locking piece made the connection less stable and prone to cutting out

The locking lugs dont fit the same length so i cant rotate it into locking position without some modification

Other than that it works fine just be warned that those adding a boom mic or inline remote may find the contraption digs into their shoulder

Had this thing for a few months and havent ever really had an issue other than it being hard to really secure because of the port on the headphones themselves being hard to latch in
