There is no real need for 5 ghz which just gives faster data transfer

With that in mind the bulb does keep your previous setting when you turn it on so you only ever need to use the app when you need something fancy

I managed to get the plug working within 5 minutes by simply downloading the app they include a handy qr code for you to scan and pairing it with my echo dot

To my surprise the plug was easy to setup even though wifi not that strong in the cabin it was detected first time
