Pros
Easy to use, easy to navigate and use. Easy to find the * and menu's. I am not overly tech saavy. I have to read the manual to get a better idea of what's going on with it.
The only complaint i really have about this camera is it's overall speed and response time. Absolutely no complaints, and lot of praise, for amazon's service.
Smart mode applies the perfect touch editing automatically. I usually keep it in automatic mode because it seems to work the best.
Cons
Burst mode is horrible, it lags when shooting anything and it freezes up often. Shutter priority mode is just ok. The lens has a wonderful zoom of 12x optical, but the lens is slow to respond to zoom commands.

Had to buy a camera for my daughters school class this camera has proved to be a great camera for the best price
I picked this camera because it was rated number 1 in consumer reports in its class and it had all the features i wanted at the right price
Back in 2008 this was worth 200

My husband loves his gift and i am more than happy because we received the camera before the expected delivery date
They were very quick with their response to my email on the issue and prompt in offering recompense for my inconvenience
I showed it to my son he has used digital cameras and he took to it very quickly even without reading the manual
I just received this camera about a week ago so i havent gotten a chance to totaly mess around with all of the cameras functions

Competitiveness
I originally wanted to purchase an slr but this camera performed as well and better than the slrs reviewed by consumer reports
I own a few other cameras in this styleprice range and this is the best of them
And another maker both costing a bit more than the kodak and with a few less features to boot
I bought it at walmart after debating on another cheap camera or spending good money on a nice one
