I read all the readers comments and really didnt get a sense of the book since everyone either was ready to donate a kidney over it since they liked it so much or they really didnt understand it because it leaves a lot of space for us to extend ourselves and use our heads or they didnt like the chatty style

If i have to knit something and then rip it out and start over again i cant blame the author since thats the type of thing that i do with stitch by stitch patternsi do it to get it right and i think your should too
