I needed to access a deeply recessed retaining ring on an automotive ac compressor clutch coil on the vehicle not much space in front of the compressor so went for the angled set with hope they would work

I did pose the question what is the depth of reach from the bend of the pliers to the tips i needed about 118 these will not do it

I had to reorder a straight pair and make them work but this is me not wanting to disconnect lines on an otherwise fully charged not leaking ac system

Heat up the handles and bend at 90 degree to fit in front axle knuckle to remove snap ring on sun shaft

I screwed around with retaining ring pliers from harbor freight for an hour who i usually love tools from but the adjustable tips wouldnt stay on and the pliers were just too wiggly to get the retaining clip off the ac clutchpulley in my 02 chevy tracker

I thought about getting the other well reviewed set off amazon from channellock but they looked a bit bulky to fit down in front of the radiator
