Installation is basically just screwing the slide mechanism down to the bottom of the cabinet and then attaching the door

We used a slightly shorter wider can than came with the unit so it would clear the plumbing under the sink see pictures

This wasnt hard for the average diy guy it just required cutting away part of the back panel as shown in the pictures

As mentioned in another review the trash cans that come with this dont fit it

I used smaller rubbermaid 35 trash cans with no problem but im still on the look out for some 50 quart that will fit side by side

We bought some child proof safety latches to keep her out of the garbage but they didnt work that well and failed after a short while

We actually have to use the knob to open the door as it is very difficult to open it from the side as we used to do
