Unlike other expensive brands it actually comes with a rj45 plug which makes it so much easier to tone ethernet cables. It’s brand product, only negative needs lot batteries, i have the tone just one 9v. Better than paying big bucks for an electrican.... Read More

Cons

The detector fails when the detector is even 1/2 inch from the cable. Do not open the case, other than the battery compartment. Somewhere between the panel and outlet, something has been disconnected.

Partly my fault for not reading all the reviews, but dang it sure misleads you to believe that this is for rj45. Really disappointing. Forget it. Fluke is better by far.

The klein tools vdv500-820 cable tracer is difficult to use, especially for beginners or those not familiar with cable tracing technology. Came without any operational instructions, no manual.
