Pros
The device works well. This unit is my in-truck replacement for a different one that got crushed. Very pleased with this purchase.
This one seems to work at a range of six feet or so and registers temps within a just a couple of degrees of actual. Aim this right on the thermostat housing of your engine and you get the temp and the laser pointer.
Cons
It constantly reads 10-11 degrees too low and there's no way to calibrate it. Even tried multiple battery chemistries and still got the same, inaccurate results. Any tool with a 9v battery must be stored with the battery removed.

This unit is flawless and for an absurdly low price
Excellent infrared temp gun for the money
Fairly priced and works like a champ

The battery for it was included and from unpackaging to using it only took about 3 minutes
Mine arrived with a little protective cover

You dont realize how useful it is until you have one great for measuring the temperature of your grill or cast iron pan as well among hundreds of other uses

This tool is good for getting an idea of what temperature something is but if you need more accurate measurements then i would go with a different tool

Its a step or two above the cheapest of the cheap and those dont last anyway

It did get a temp reading but think it was off a few degrees
