It will work to keep a light rain or drizzle or splashes from getting through tightly knit cotton and canvas but it wont last long term

Only thing i didnt like was even after 3 coats on my hunting boots and a week to air out outside there still was a lingering chemical smell

This stuff is quite water repellant and does not seem to affect breathability of the items
