To use such a small pot she has to cut the amounts in recipes by half to even one fourth but shes only cooking for one

I had been looking for one of these small slow cookers to make steel cut oats but i didnt want to spend a lot of money for something that basically would only have one purpose

It does run a bit hot but from what ive been reading this is a problem with all the more modern slow cookers because of food safety concerns

My recipes say to cook the oats on low overnight but ive never been comfortable with leaving electric appliances on while unattended

Instead i start my oats early in the evening and by the time im ready for bed so are the oats

I remove the crock from the cooker cover the crock and refrigerate
