Pros
Easy to dismantle and put together. Pros:1) gets the job done.
Some 'boxes' have an open spot you'd think. Others need optional sliders or brackets to properly secure this rack in place. There is a very firm grip and the gaskets prevent drive vibration just fine.
This review is for the kf-1002-bk, a hot swap 3. You need to have a bios that supports hot swapping of sata drives. It's really more about cooling ability and the means of staying within drive specifications.
This bay fits a double 5-1/4 bay perfect. I have 6 of 10tb hdd converted from external to internal and they all works great. The kingwin bay is filled with 5 seagate 6tb sas drives. The data speed is controlled by the hdd/ssd and motherboard.
The device pushes the drive onto the sata connectors. It could be easier to install if the product used a thicker tin metal. Data cable plugs has enough space for either straight or right angles.
Cons
The tray has no back on it, it just lines your drive up with the ports on the hot-swap rack. The main problem is the docking for the 2. Hd in the bottom part and a 2. Connector are not well done.

I originally bought a vantec unit a few years ago
The 3pin dupont connector has been around in pcs since the 1980s at least
I bought a couple of these kingwins years ago a frys electronics and they have worked great

Drives are not meant to be hot swappable as the bios has to recognize the installed drive before windows can see it

Per kingwin the sata connector in this dual drive bay is just a wired connection to the external sata connector
