The only downside is that by cloning a smaller drive onto a larger one the larger drive only exhibited 500gb of useable space

The smaller 2 backed up fine but the big one kept failing so it may have had some damage to it

I had just gotten another brand of this type of unit in 2 months ago to try and make a clone drive in case this very problem existed but 2 trips to frys electronics when they said onlline they had the hd only to arrive and find their inventory was wrong so didnt get to have a clone ready to go when this problem happend nor did i take the unit with me on the road

It worked fine on an old borrowed laptop running vista but cant say if it works on windows 10 or not

It really saved a lot of my users from losing their data when their pcs died but the hdds were still functional

Im thinking i bet with shipping the power supply would probably cost over half the amount of a new dock
