That may be ok for the first time it is used but after that the dish will be set on some part of the butter which now means those edges will spread butter onto whatever surface it is placed upon

It fits regular stick of butter but is too narrow to fit the fancy butters which is a shame because it is the butter you want to spread on your bread not the store brand butter sticks

The dish comes well protected from damage in shipping but the packaging is not for gift giving it is a brown box with messy crumbly styrofoam

I like the way it keeps butter and other items fresh in the refrigerator so when i remove the items for table use they dont have that refrigerator taste
