Pros

Works great even without nagura slurry. Very forgiving and easy to work with, and capable of scary sharp. Product was advertised correctly. Shipped on top and side.

One of the best entry level price/performance finishing stone. Clean-up and maintenance is a breeze. A nice compliment to my king 250/1000 combo stone.

This stone makes a good chisel as sharp as a razor. I personally prefer king sharpening stones over naniwa stones. And the wetstone sharpens beautifully. I have many shaped india and arkansas stones that are ok for honing the molder and shaper knives....  Read More

The fine edge on all my blades is put on by this puppy. Had a forschner chef and boning knife from my meat cutting days. Both were serrated from using a pull through sharpener.

The king 6000 grit whetstone s-1 works as a great finishing stone for edge sharpening and polishing. A good stone grit to breach the gab between the lower grits and the finishing stone is the 1000 grit.

Cons

The stone that i recived is not the s-1 that was advertised. The black scrape produced by this particular whetstone is extraordinarily hard to clean.
