So in short if you really really want to see if someone is trying to sneak around anywhere it is dark hook one of these up and point the bottom of this bulb where they would have to cross anywhere in the same zip code and sit back and enjoy

On the other hand this motion detection might be a bit too sensitive for your application and you might want to try another bulb for comparison

Purchased for outdoor lights that apparently everyone forgets where the switch is so they are on for hours and hours even in daylight
