One strong impact at a particular angle it snaps the contact inside the barrel because the lack of recess in the bezel leaves the stress point of the barrel and the rubber neck exposed it has nothing to do with the integrity of the headsets construction its that phone manufacturers care less and less about wired accessories coughapplecough
