The advantage is when one detector goes off in one part of the house all the detectors go off at the same time giving better notice to either put the fire out immediately or evacuate before the fire is too big

Fortunately changing out the old connector and putting in the new connector only takes about two minutes for each

I had to remove the cover plate from the old connector and the connector wired into the electrical box

I then screwed in the new cover plate attached the connector to the smoke detector and inserted the detector into the cover plate
