It mounts underneath the rear screws that hold the seat to the toilet and does cause the seat to sit a little unevenly but the difference is hardly problematic

Be sure to install the lock under the toilet seat hinges not on top

However we have a double lid with a kid size toilet seat which makes the wand not move over the toilet lid

They cant see inside so the entertainment value isnt there

There is no way my daughter can open the lid with the lever in place

I would however make sure that everyone in the house knows that it is essential to replace the lever every time otherwise there is the potential for drowning plus i would check it regularly if there are guests in the house just to be sure

As to other reviewers concerns about the disparity in the height of the seat in front and back i have not found it an issue as far as sitting down as i cant fell that there is a slant
