They work well and are reasonably priced. It runs for a pleasantly long time on a pair of aas.
On my second one in 6 yrs. Also happens to be about when the warranty expires. Bought another in late december 2018. Called kensington september 14th (today) went through the process again.
Cons
The track ball itself seems good, but the scroll ring is horrible. The wrist support extension simply sits below the unit but doesn't really attach to it. I lean toward the assumption that these are all just under-engineered items, made on the cheap.

No matter whether i use the dongle or bluetooth, this has serious issues with lag. No amount of cleaning, restarts, or unplugging fixes. Have tried different usb ports to no effect. The pointer freezes after a few minutes of no use.
Buyer beware folks. This isn't right. Very disappointed. Utter trash.

Contacted kensington in midaugust for a replacement per warranty

Having that would make this mouse a perfect package

I switched from logitech to this kensington one and i am so glad i did
There is an awesome video by tech critter malaysia that shows you how to replace those switches that are available here on amazon
Finally i tried the energizer brand rechargeable batteries 2300mah nimh and those fit and i could close the battery compartment door
Im comparing it to pointing devices in general not just the logitech

Ive taped little bulges where i need to push as an aid to finding the sweet spot but slowly adapting
